GOAL: Focusing on pacing and a smooth transition between camera angles.
Editing process
The requirements for this week's short film was to use a shot-reverse-shot., filming a conversation. We wanted to create a scenario that would be easy to remember (as we would have to repeat it twice, to get both angles), but also fun to act out. The car wash argument was actually based on real life, where Forester actually had to tell a lady at his workplace that morning that she could not, in fact, get a free hand wash. I decided to be a stuck up little nepo baby simply to exaggerate the lady's character for the fun of it.
We chose to exaggerate the quiet and loud environments by filming the quiet version in the isolated animation studio, and filming the loud section in the Quad, where many people were walking through.

1. Used the Da Vinci in/out feature to select the right part from the video of every shot comppiled together, ensuring I only press 'in' after action, and 'out' before cut.
2. Placed both camera angles on my timeline, and then cut out each shot from each video alternatingly.
3. Assembled the clips together, making any more necessary cuts if needed

My timeline! At times of heightened tension - e.g. when Forester is yelling at me, I tried to ensure that his yelling comes in immediately after the cut. In other shots, especially those where I'm milking the snobby girl persona, I left a beat before I began speaking to place emphasis on the difference in my demeanour and facial expressions, to the previous one of Forester.
